Post Office Single Trip Travel Insurance query

Hi,

I am currently stranded in Jersey thanks to an unseasonable blizzard closingdown all outgoing and incoming flights.

I've the Post Office's "award winning" Premium Single Trip TravelInsurance but other than being able to claim back £25 after the first 8 hoursof delay, then £25 every subsequent 12 hours of delay the very nice ladiesmanning the claim-line tell me I'm not eligible for any other assistance anddirected me to talk to my airline.

This I did only to be told that because the airport was closed by theaviation authority it wasn't actually the airline's responsibility/fault thatI'm stranded and that the airline couldn't help me out with hotel costs otherthan to book me on the next flight out.

I'm travelling with a friend who has travel insurance with Nationwide andthey couldn't have been more helpful in terms of recognising the need to findsomewhere to stay and being able to pay for it.

Am I being unreasonable in thinking that the PO Travel Insurance should beprepared to help with accommodation costs? If you've any advice/suggestions itwould be most gratefully received as I think I'm going to be here for a fewdays...

Looks like the cover you bought is as per what you were told.

The cover your friend has is up to £1k after 4 hours delay for accommodation, meals, additional travel costs.

Do you have any cover with a bank account or similar?
