Copying fonts between PCs

I've got Garamond Truetype fonts on one PC but not on the other. Actually I have Garamond Type 1 font on the other PC, but the Garamond font doesn't seem to be displaying/printing correctly on that PC. Is there a way to copy installed fonts from one PC (Win2k or WinXP) to another (WinXP)?

When I try to copy these over to the fonts folder I get the following message for each font:
"The GARA.TTF file is currently being used and cannot be replaced. Wait until Windows has finished using the file and try again."

Trouble is I can't see these files displayed. I've checked that hidden files are displayed and it is set to display these, but still can't see them.

    More ideas?
  • Hi,

wonder what would happen if you deleted existing file and then tried to add the moved file.

Maybe you could try it with one of the never used fonts first.

When I've hit font problems in the past, I've used a nice bit of free software called 'The Font Thing'
