    I use trivago
  • travelsupermarket is the only one i can think off
i usually look at expedia, octopus, hotelworld, bookings.com, hotels.com and use travelsupermarket once i've found the hotel i fancy

note alot of these hotel booking sites are related...

don't forget to book via a cashback website like quidco
you get an average 8-12% cashback on your bookings, soon adds up to some nice mionthly cashback

Trivago is reasonable, I find it irritating that it simply lists the lowest price possible which may be slightly out if one is offering RO and another is offering B&B etc Likewise if you want a higher class of room you cannot compare as who's cheapest for the basic room isnt always the cheapest for the higher rooms.

    Www.trivago.co.uk, https://www.hotelscomparison.com and https://www.hotelscombined.com cover most options.
    However https://www.holidaynights.co.uk and https://www.lowcostholidays.com
aren't on any of these and they sometimes have tasty prices prices too.
Its always then worth going through quidco for some extra cashback and/or discount codes too

In my experience, comparing hotels is much harder than airlines. There is so much difference between the sites in terms of price, availability and booking conditions.

If I know I want to stop in a particular hotel, especially for work, then I tend to book directly with the hotel or their parent chain. May not get the cheapest rate but you usually get more flexibility and choice.

For choosing between hotels in an area then it involves research using several sites combined with Tripadvisor.

For holiday destinations I find Alpharooms to be very reliable.

And always use Quidco when possible.

Don't forget making a direct enquiry with the hotel. Agents have to be paid somehow.

Cashback sites can give extra savings too.
