Susidence

Has anyone got experience of subsidence claims?

I live in a bungalow built approx 1920 extended and re roofed approx 1970. Been here for 21years. For 17 years buildings insurance and contents were with different companies. When I went to renew it was suggested both buildings and contents policies with the same company would be cheaper so I took out new policies 4 years ago and signed to say there was no subsidence as at time of signing I was not aware of any. There are now large cracks etc appearing and these seem to be getting bigger. I am worried that as I signed to say there was not subsidence and if proved by the structural engineers survey that there is subsidence and this started before I signed the second policy then I will not be covered (even though the same company has provided the insurance for 21 years)

Can anyone help with info about his situation.
