Paypal pending

I bought and paid for an item on ebay with paypal and was expecting the item by now. I have just checked the auction and it says 'Your PayPal payment is pending'. I have the usual paypal email that says I have paid and I havent seen this payment pending before. Does anyone know what it means? Is there a problem with my funds (there were plenty in my account) or is it a problem with the seller?
Thanks.

I know if someone pays with an echeque it comes up as payment pending and can take about 10 days to clear. Paypal tell sellers not to send out items until it shows as cleared in their account.

The echeque comes from your bank account. so i don't know if that is what has happened in your case.

I do not use this method to pay ,but as a seller i have received a few of these.
  • The funds were in my account and it wasnt an echeque. I have emailed the seller and hope they will reply.
