Electric blankets are a lot safer these days and if anyone wants any there are some at the Accrington store end of an aisle on the floor.

You need to check the actual size. The last 'double' I bought turned out to be a large single. Wasn't expensive and I made do, but still naughty.

I do worry about the safety of electric blankets so mainly just use mine to heat up the bed before i get in it, and it goes off (at the mains) when I'm in bed or out. I think it's mainly the old ones or if you store them wrong, but better safe...

Electric blankets are alot safer now and our local fire station hold testing days for them at the end of summer so you can get it checked for peace of mind.

I got a new one recently for ebay as i couldn't find a cheap kindsize one best £22 i've spent and just as good as the £40 one it was replacing (which hubby bought me as a gift when we were going out, it's no wonder i married him :))

Many people don't realise the high settings are for warming up the bed - but most must be on a low setting when your in it.
