UK Holiday, cancellation only insurance

We have booked a week in a Pembrokeshire hotel, £600 b and b. Now, OH, who is overly cautious ;)wants to insure for possible cancellation of said holiday in June

Ive checked out a lot of insurance comparisons but they all include millions of quids worth of medical cover, which we wont need as its in the UK anyway.

Does anyone know of an insurer who covers just the basic cost of cancellation or curtailment of a holiday in the UK please.

Travel only covers for what isnt covered elsewhere so if you have cover for illness as you are a british resident and holidaying in the UK then there is no millions of pounds of medical treatment

Any single trip holiday cover where you can specify UK as your destination will rate on the basis of you being unable to claim for medical expenses even though it will still show on your policy documents - generally it is much cheaper to have one set of docs that cover all territories than try and change the whole process and documents etc depending on which territory you're going to
  • I was looking at this recently from the opposite angle (for bookings at our holiday cottage) and came across this site which seems to offer simple UK-only insurance

Doh! I'm not allowed to post a link, but Google something like:

    Schofields UK Travel Insurance

It was the first one I saw, but there are probably many others.

Many hotel bookings allow you to cancel up to the day of arrival.

Check the conditions of booking. You may not need insurance.
  • Single trip insurance, especially when you say you are only going to the UK, is very, very cheap anyway.
