How to remove sticky labels ?

Hi all. I bought a couple of Stainless Steel trays in a cheap Dubai supermarket. Can't get the sticky back of the price label off the centre of the dishes. Tried very strong nail varnish remover, tried baking soda and boiling water.....there still is some stickyness left to it.
Any idea?
Many thanks.

You can buy sticky label remover, but something I often use when I don't have any to hand is surgical spirit. It's quite cheap, so a cost effective solution. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Brasso (metal polish) takes sticky labels off most things. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0

WD40 works for me. Also use a hob scraper.0

Thanks all !!! Snow on the ground so didn't bother going into garage to fetch the WD40. Had some Brasso inside and in 3 seconds flat ....Job done !! Many thanks again.0
