Item sent for repair damaged in transit

the box has a large central crease on the top
looks more like the box survived whilst passing on the impact from whatever happened
I would expect no carrier to pay out if you packaged the item as the photo suggests
I just seen the crease but explain the scratches? Also the item wasnt shipped it was collected. No where does it say in their T&c's that I must package item in certain way for them to collect it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Could it be the plastic bits of the box handle have caused the damage, due to something impacting the top of the box?
unlikely as the case is metal, regardless something has hit my computer and they are using packaging to remove blame.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

they are using the packaging to expain why it happened
Im not sure how thick you think the metal on the case it.
that item against something heavier/imobile would easily allow the handle(fr example) to damage the top of the case
Im quite frankly astounded you thought that was acceptable on such a high end and easily damaged product0 -

You're having a laugh surely?! Who needs hindsight to know how to pack something correctly?! Who needs hindsight to stand up to a grumpy courier?! Come on now! Only an idiot packs an expensive electrical item like that!!ThumbRemote wrote: »Yes, of course you would, because you have the benefit of hindsight in advance, and you never make mistakes.
And where did I say I never make mistakes?! I've certainly never made a mistake packing an expensive item before handing it over to a courier though, that's for sure!0 -

But that does that mean the entire T&C are void, or that in certian circumstances it becomes void.
Indeed if I were a laymen and the claim was denied because the OP didn't package his machine sucficently and the claim was denied because of B-2-C I'd say thats fair.
If the machine was packaged correctly and damaged and they refused to payout I'd say thats unfair.
Either way, to argue the point the OP would have to take them to court.0
