Can anyone give me any ideas whats wrong with the wife's PC...
I reformatted it a while back with XP, then installed SIMS2 for her - whenever she was mid game, the PC would shutdown/restart (cant recall which one particularly)
it would do this religiously after 10-25 minutes game play... at first I thought graphics card/driver issue - checked them out and updated them all - everything appears ok
the other day she told me it happened when she was in XP using standard apps.......
my only other thought (having checked out the drivers and updating the key ones) is an environmental issue - overheating etc but have no real way of checking that out
anyone got any other ideas what may be causing this issue?

I had the same thing and after a looooong investigation it turned out that the USB hub I was using was not working properly. I removed it and it was fine again.
Try removing the peripherals (one at a time) to identify the cause (if, as i suspect, it is a dodgy USB peripheral)0 -
interesting you should suggest that, we currently have a USB WiFi device plugged in thats giving a few problems in terms of performance and availability, so thats coming out at the weekend and a new CAT5 being run instead (Who said wireless was the future) so maybe that will help!0
