Those of you who had 2 FB accounts, but have lost your comping account can you see the account you've been banned with? IE can you see it on friend list or search for that account?

Going through this thread I see comments like this everywhere..

Facebook terms and conditions allows 1 account per person ... If you have 2 accounts 1 would be classed by facebook as a fake.
So many people here stating their comping one was blocked... I know we don't like spamming our friends.


What annoys me is due to this purge on those with fake accounts ...innocent people with one account are getting caught up in it all.

A thread from a year ago from another sweepstakes forum was posted earlier. I have found the one detailing the issues of the last couple of days:

Still none the wiser, although a couple of people have reported having their accounts closed, as opposed to repeated security checks and thirty day bans. Happily, they've also started using the Twitter hashtag #facebookban too.

I only had one account which was both personal and occasional comping for things I wanted to enter, they targeted that. This has nothing to do with multiple accounts.

Facebook have made it known since the middle of last year they were having a purge on fake accounts , fake likes and spammers it's been widely spread and reported on...
and as I ended.... "What annoys me is due to this purge on those with fake accounts ...innocent people with one account are getting caught up in it all.".. Having a major purge like this which is no doubt computerised will always end up with some of us with only 1 account getting caught up in it all.
They went through the gaming community on facebook last year doing the same thing as that was another area where people had more than 1 account.

Personally, I think Facebook need to get over themselves :cool:

I'm just back from a thirty day ban and already they are having me verify my account.

No sweat, if they ban me I'll just set up a fake account, thus being guilty of what I am innocent of right now.

I won't be losing any sleep over them :rotfl:

Just logged into facebook for the first time today and my account is suspended for 30 days for so called abuse, may as well kick it in to touch only had the account for 3 days.

Set up another account yesterday and already have had to do verification. I only did 3 l&s yesterday. Luckily I got back on but I want my old acount back

I have had dozens of friends send me friend requests as they set up another account under a ban
Each one I accept asks me if I know then in real life
In the past clicking no has got that person a ban so it's likely to be part of the problem for those people getting repeat bans now
IF you set up a new account (or have 2 anyway) don't use ANY of the same details because FB is a database being searched and posted and databases are excellent at finding duplicates of data they hold - email is obvious but profile pics from somewhere else or header images or any of the personal stuff should be different as possible
You don't need to lie - John Smith can become Johnny Smith etc

Sharing isn't doing this and nor is liking things because FB doesn't know what the hell you're liking unless someone looks at the pages unless it's targeting company pages which they know to run share comps
Bingo and several other groups are getting this too and they don't like/share like we do so it's not causing it as people assume

I asked a mate who works for FB and he said it was a glitch and they have constant purges on dupe profiles and various abusers and there wasnt anything he knew about except advising me not to share too much too fast
Given that @!!!! has had trouble when the app that auto posts links daily got blocked a few times for sharing the exact same thing regularly and in pretty large numbers sometimes that seems a possibility
We do tend to sit down and blast a load of comps out in a short time and aload of those are shares (most FB dailies are in the magazine comps even if they aren't actually ON FB themselves) - you can easily share 20 times doing the mag dailies in less than half an hour and that's definitely in the right zone for FB to pick it up and stop it
I shouldn't say this really but I've had no trouble at all but I spread out the shares when this all kicked off just in case but have done everything else as before - I don't do a lot of tagging or get tagged a lot either but I doubt that matters

At the end of the day the people who will be losing most here are companies who you no longer have a connection with - they go to a lot of trouble and expense to get us on FB and then in one second you are on a new account and they have to redo it or lose a lot of people - they seem to me to be the people who need to be complaining to FB really as they will get an ear we don't have
