yeah, good news, fiat confirmed that it would be replacing entire clutch unit and leaking bearing on warranty. after engineer came out to assess. asked about the other warranty issue as well... that i paid for previously... fiat as you said were very good. the dealership just need a bit of leadership it would seem ;o)

Yes, I know. It is a few dealers that let the marque down. I have actually known Fiat (and Alfa) authorize work on customer's cars OUTSIDE of their warranty periods for things that you would expect not to fail when the servicing schedule has been maintained buy the owner.

It's a pity that the dealer couldn't simply pick up the phone and ask the question themselves rather than ending up with a bit of egg on their face. But as I implied before, the warranty hourly labour payment that they receive from the manufacturer (as in all makes), is a lot less than that of the retail rate. Perish the thought that this is why your dealer was trying to convince you that your warranty wouldn't cover it! But seriously, I would try a different dealership in future if you can.

Glad it's worked out for you and re-installed your confidence in Fiat!

Good to know. Too few people come on, ask for help, get it (Tilt has been excellent IMHO) and then are never heard from again.

Thanks for letting us know it worked out.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

Mind you, not many threads get the right result in under 20 posts! Well done Fiat!
