EDF Dropping Gas prices by 10%

In today's Scottish Sun newspaper is an advert from EDF.
Were dropping standard gas prices by over 10% Because we wouldn't want you warming to anyone else

Now on to the fine print at the bottom of the advert
Standard gas prices will fall with effect from 15th June . Reductions do not apply to online, fixed or other non-standard tariffs. Terms and conditions apply

So I'm not going to see any reduction I'm on Online V3, going to start looking for an alternative hopefully that can beat what i am currently paying for Dual Fuel.

There have been a number of threads about EDF on-line V3 - do a search.

I think you might find it very difficult to beat that tariff and you don't want to cut off your nose etc.

Beware also the comparison sites as they don't appear to have V3 on their data base. If you enter EDF on line it will use one of the later and more expensive tariffs for comparison and give you wrong results.

Couldn't agree more. I am also on V3 and nearly got caught out on the comparison sites.

I still use the comparison sites to check against other suppliers but to work out my current costs with EDF I use my own calculations.

Point one yes I'm fully aware if you care to look you will find i contributed to most of these.
Point two it costs nothing to compare tariffs.
Point three I'm fully aware look at my reply point one.

The purpose of the post was to ensure EDF customers are aware that the price fall is not all it appears.

That seems to be a rather terse response.

Point One - I was not aware that you had contributed to earlier threads. You indicated you would be looking for a cheaper tariff, therefore my post was in good faith.

Point Two - The other EDF customers you are attempting to advise might not be aware of the situation with V3, and indeed other versions of EDF on-line tariffs.

Point Three - Since you knew about the comparison website anomaly, I suggest it would have saved this exchange(and Gambler's post) had you included that information - for the benefit of the other EDF customers you are attempting to advise of course.

Malamute I have to agree with cardew, you have to sincerley justify your point before replying with "terse" comments.

I work for EDF Energy and it amazes me how often customers change to a more expensive tariff after comparing online. I think this will always be the case and the above needs to be reiterated time and time again to ensure people get the message. Purely looking out for the best interests of others.

V3 is extremely competitive on the current market. The decrease principle applies roughly the same throughout the whole energy industry. Please read the T&C's before you commit then you will realise the non-entitlement.

    Regards
