in Credit cards
hi how would i put down on a credit card application my income as this is the situation....
i have a job earning 900 a month after tax and insurance so when asking for annual thats 10,800 but i also earn 23k on the side a yr but not on the book so i can only prove via wage slips that i get £10,800 a year but really i get £34k a yr in total,
how will i do this when applying for a credit card. can i prove it by sending a copy of my bank statement showing that i have that much going through my bank account?

how would i go about doing that legally tho as that 23k is for freelance graphics design and can vary in amounts such as.. one peson pays me £20 10 people can pay me £80 and a few may pay me £300 etc it depends as bank statement is very confusing to where my income is concerned.0 -

why not? most people get away with things like that lol. i know a person who went from earning £125 a fortnight of benefits to go self employed just to earn £50 a week of his job and a further £87 a week on working tax credits, benefits do my head in as they moan that people claiming too much benefits yet offer them more if they work less !!!!!!?0 -

if you were doing your self assessment you'll have your annual tax returns as proof of your true income.0

Trolling or not...
Anyway it is an interesting question. In general, do card companies ever require proof of income, and has anyone had to actually deal with this? My experience has been, the application form asks about your income, you put whatever you think is about right, and they never come back to me to verify that. Of course they do excessive due dilligence to prove my residence address, check my identification, etc. But when it comes to my financials, it seems like they will just take my word for it. In my case, I have many different sources of income (all legally declared and accounted for of course), but it's not easy to come up with a single "gross yearly income" figure, so I just stick a finger in the air and guesstimate it. Hasn't ever caused me a problem.0 -
Was gong to say that I have never been asked for proof of income in any card or loan application. I have been asked for proof of identity twice but that's it.0
