PCN from AEJ Management

Hi guys
I'm new to the forum and read a lot of good advice from the members about parking tickets or shall I call it invoices from private companies. I just want reassurance from you guys about the above company who I got a PCN from last Saturday.
I don't remember parking on a disabled bay as it was marked parents and children. It was difficult to see in the dark. Now I may have parked on a disabled bay and it was a mistake. I would never repeat that mistake again and carefully check the bays.
Looking at the PCN - Parking Charge Notice it says payment should be done via paymypcn.net and their address is in Surrey, West Byfleet. Having read on the forum I have realised that this site is run by a dodgy bloke and has affiliation with Roxburgh Debt collectors and Graham White Solicitors. Has anyone heard of AEJ management & do I follow the same course of action as you all advise. Ignore?
Your help and advice will be much appreciated from an apprehensive motorist.

if you have read the forums why are you asking.......................IGNORE ITS A SCAM0

I'm not sure about AEJ Management. My friends and family tell me not to ignore them as they are a big organisation that run big retail car parks.
So if I get a PCN from ANY private companies I should ignore? They are all the same? Just wanted reassurance to brave it out with all their threatening letters I will receive soon. So anyone had to deal with AEJ management?0 -
They're just the same as the rest.
Wait for Coupon-Mad for the whole story about what to do.
The key thing is that you don't have to pay.0 -
Ok thanks Althehibby. I just hope I'm making the right decision to ignore. What happens if anyone loses to a POPLA appeal?0

It doesn't matter how big the company is, this is an illegal penalty so don't think that its legitimate because its them. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

What about NCP - they are a massive company who even own some of their car parks, and you'd not take their fake PCNs seriously either. As for AEJ, never heard of them but I am down South. Here's their website:

'Cleaning...maintenance'...Jack of all Trades, Master of None is my impression! :rotfl:
Anyway, here's what we advise at the moment - I am keen on using the POPLA appeals system to get these pathetic fake PCNs cancelled at the PPCs' expense! As long as this was in England/Wales?

paymypcn.net is just a money collection site devised by a chap rejoicing in the chav name of Duane, at Roxburghe. So what, you are not going to pay it so you don't need to be looking at that third party payment site!
So, have a look at other threads in the last few days on here and draft an appeal, could be a strong one at the outset with lots of stuff about contract and ownership of the land (you'll see similar words in various threads discussing POPLA appeals), or it could be a softer one to 'lure them in' to POPLA at their own expense. If you want to try the latter just go for a short appeal like bluealpaca is aiming at Parking Eye (knowing that the POPLA appeal must be much stronger and will cost the PPC money!). If you want to get further advice on your appeal to AEJ then post it here first.
More importantly, when you get a reply from AEJ let us see, and tell us if you do/don't get a POPLA verification code and paperwork with AEJ's rejection. That's the serious stage of appeal when if you get it right, with the right advice here, the fake PCN will probably be wiped out.
I am confident we can now knock down most fake PCNs at the PPCs' own expense, using POPLA like a strong breath of fresh air against a house of cards!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks CM. It was ncp I was thinking of.
OP do as CM says and you'll be fine (not fined)!0 -
Thanks Couponmad for the advice.
I can appeal online as the option is available. However when I did, the site paymypcn.net just took my information and asked if i was the driver? I said no, a white lie. But it just didn't let me appeal online even though it said i can do on the ticket after taking my information which was the wrong address. The ticket says I cannot appeal to POPLA until I appeal to paymypcn.net. I'm thinking of writing a letter to West Byfleet, Surrey with my address for corrospondence and telling them I was not the driver and the driver in question who will not be named, parked on the parents bay. But it had to be within 7 days and I'm gone over.

What's your advise on this?
So they seem to have breached the BPA Code of Practice:
''22 Complaints, challenges and appeals
General principles
22.1 Under the Code you must have procedures for dealing fairly, efficiently and promptly with complaints, challenges or appeals. The procedures must give drivers and keepers the chance to challenge a parking charge notice.
22.7 We consider it a reasonable timescale to allow 28 days from the issue of the parking charge notice (in whatever format you send it) to allow the driver, keeper or hirer to challenge the enforcement action.
POPLA (Parking On Private Land Appeals) 22.14 Drivers and keepers may appeal against a parking charge to POPLA.''
Having said that, I am not convinced there's much benefit these days in actually denying you were driving, as that's not a real option since POFA (except in Scotland where the POFA doesn't apply).
You don't have to say who was driving but if you don't then liability can - if the PPC play the game properly, which they won't! - then pass to the registered keeper anyway.
That's not a massive deal in fact. There are so many more things you can win this on and they are already breaching the BPA Code, which POPLA seem quite hot on (when it is pointed out by an informed appellant like yourself)!
I would appeal by snail mail as you suggest, maybe don't actually refuse to name the driver - but you can skirt round it if you like and just say 'I am the registered keeper and this is my challenge against the legitimacy of fake PCN number xxxx...'
'Bikerjp' on pepipoo drafted a good 'challenge' (not an appeal as such) letter you may like to crib from - and he didn;t name the driver - but do also read the whole thread as the input there is from some really knowledgeable posters (e.g. bama, gan and broadsword):
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=77301&st=0
I would not tip the PPC off about their BPA Code breaches so far - save that and other breaches that I am sure will follow, for a strong POPLA challenge at AEJ's expense!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi all,
Following on from the previous posts (and if this is in the wrong place please accept my apologies).
I am new to this forum and would like some advice please. I have read the previous posts above and understand what is being said and the possible events that could follow, but I am worried about what the consequences could be depending on what option I go for.
Basically in an error of judgement I parked my motorcycle in a retail park car park on the hatched yellow lines at the end of a row of parent/child bays (in my own mind I parked there on the hatched yellow lines (that were about 1/3 of a car wide) instead of in a parent/child bay so that any parent/child bay users would not lose a space and would also be unaffected by my parked motorcycle.
When I returned I found a PCN affixed to my windscreen stating contravention code C - park only within marked bays £90 fine reduced to £50 if I pay within 14 days. Contravention can be viewed on their web site etc.
The PCN (parking charge notice) is from AEJ Management
If I can avoid paying a £50 fine then I would like to try.
So my question is should I just pay up and put it down to my own stupidity. Or should I fight it.
I am a adult with children myself (hence not parking in the bay).
And in future I will make sure that I only park in a proper place/bay.
Thanks for any advice
