Facials ... are they worth it?

I personally think they are worth it. For years I used a system called Crystal Clear, started off with weekly microdermabrasion facials for 6 weeks and at home used their products which worked well, but then towards last year I noticed I was getting ALOT more outbreaks and blemishes. By then i was only having the facials once a month.
My beautician had previously recommended the Dermalogica skin kits, specifically the one to remove blemishes. I've been using it for 3 weeks now and the effect has been AMAZING! My skin is not breaking out any more, my t zone is no longer oily and as a result my foundation looks flawless for hours on end AND most importantly my blemishes are diminishing!!! I did have an intense facial to kick start this new regime, and it's worked wonders!
I once tried Clarins and went for a facial where they recommended and used the Clarins products, I left there with my face feeling great, after spending a small fortune on products after I got home, I ended up not using them as I soon got a very bad reaction!
The normal run of the mill facials I personally think they are a waste of time and money!0 -

Rolling my eyes at you!!!!!!!!!0 -
I dont think they are worth it, I use Clarins and I can buy the same products to give myself a home facial at a fraction of the cost of having a professional do it with the same products.
I have had facials in the past and none of them were any better than what I can do myself at home.
The only things I would go to a professional for are treatments like fillers/peels/botox.0 -
I think it depends what you want to get out of it. Most people I know who get facials at a salon do it more for the feeling of being relaxed/pampered etc as most of the products you can buy versions of yourself to use at home. If you don't feel you would enjoy the experience then it's probably not worth it for you and would be more cost effective to buy some quality skin care products to use at home.0
