Category c write off- can it be written off again?

I drive a category c write off. The reason it was written off is because it is old and had a very small accident with a previous owner. The previous owner thought that it was a perfectly good car and bought it back, repaired it, got a vic and mot and returned it to the road, and sold it to me a few years later for a very good price.

Anyway, I was wondering what would happen if the car was substantially damaged again- could it be written off again? If not, what would happen under these circumstances?

Essentially, yes, if you had an accident it'd likely be written off again. Just don't expect a high payout.
  • Yeah it can be written off again, I would expect companies to offer a reduced payout (I know Aviva do) however.
I work for a leading insurance company as an Insurance Advisor dealing with Commercial Insurance. Feel free to ask me any questions but please do not take what I say as correct advice at all times, as every insurance company works differently to others.

Thanks for the replies. I wouldn't expect much for it, didn't pay much for the car in the first place :)

Are you claiming from your insurance or a 3rd party though?
