Hi,
Pls can anyone recommend a way or an App which will block text messages on an Android phone (Samsung Galaxy SII).
Have Googled and found some but looking for recommendations. Also, it seems you have to give all sorts of permissions to the App to read your messages etc - is there any way around this as it seems intrusive and open to abuse?
Have one personal called I'd like to block. ALso been receiving SPAM short code chargeable text messages and would like to block these - will an App work for these?
Many thx in advance.

I'm fairly sure that a "text blocking" app will not stop you from getting charged for these - you just won't see them if you block them. This is obviously not a good idea...
In fact I don't ~think~ it's possible to "block" texts at all with an app - all these apps do is receive the texts, examine them and hide "blocked" ones from you.0 -
It's built into the Galaxy S3... just hold down on the text, then select 'register as spam number'
Does the S2 have this option also?
I doubt it will save you being charged by true spammers though0 -
No im not aware of the same feature you describe Ringo. For spam texts I pass on to my network. The app thats been linked too looks good.0
