Has anyone claimed for a damaged phone recently?

I have damaged accidentally HTC Desire that I can claim for but with the fifty quid excess (it's via my bank account) I wonder if it's worth it.

Will they replace it 'like for like' or with an equivalent newer model?

They'll try and repair it or replace with a refurbished model of your current phone.

It's actually a doorstep swap for damaged phones. The phones don't need to be registered any longer. I'm just weighing up whether it'll be £50 well spent or not.
