National Insurance query

I am due to be made redundant in June this year.

As far as i am aware I will not be entitled to any job seekers allowance due to the level of savings and occupational pension I am due to receive.

I do intend to look for another job, probably part time in the near future.

Do I still need to try and claim JSA in order for my National Insurance contributions to be paid as I don't want a shortfall when I reach 65.

Thanks

You should be able to claim Contribution-based JSA if you have been working. Even if there are deductions made from it because of your Occupational pension, you could still have your NI credited. Worth a try!
