Dollar account

Anybody know of a Dollar account in the UK that doesn't carry any monthly charges? I used to have one with Citibank but they've introduced a monthly charge now.

Ask yourself why they have imposed the charge?

The answer is cost so unless somebody wants to intoduce a fee fee account as a loss leader nobody will.

Why does the account have to be in the UK - would it not be more sensible to have it in the US?

I'm not really interested in why Citibank have introduced the charge. The question was if anyone knows of a fee-free Dollar account. There may well be one out there that I can't find online, hence asking here......

I'm based in the UK so it needs to be here.

    The answer is NO.

The reasons I have advised you.

Thank you. Although it would have been simpler to just say that in your first post.

Without a fee, doubtful. With a fee the most obvious one is Barclays International Bank Account (iBank account) 10 quid a month but you get a debit card too.

I have a US Dollar Account with barclays. No monthly fee. But they charge 2% of any cash credit or debit. Please let me know if you find a better one.
