flickr - automatic payments?

Hi, i am hopeing someone here has used flickr and can help. I have an online flickr (photo charing account) account and each year i pay to have a Pro Account whereby you can add more pictures, every year i can choose if i want to renew and it goes back to a free account until it is renewed again, this was the case for 4 years (I could choose when i wanted to renew it), then this year i notice flickr has taken money from my bank acccount without my authorisation. I did not get a notice to say they were going to, i never agreed to it and i had not even wanted to have a Pro Account this year as i had not been using it. I asked for a full refund and they claim that I ticked a box last year to say i agreed to automatic payments leaving my bank. I have no recollection of doing this and would never have agreed to such a thing as i like to know exactly when something is being taken from my bank. They refuse to give me a refund for the money they took and say that if even if i cancel my account completly they will still not refund me as i am paid for the rest of the year but I do not want this account and never agreed to this. If i indeed did tick the box i had no idea what it was for.

Has anyone else had this issue with flickr, or does anyone know my rights in terms of this kind of thing. I had no idea someone could just take money from your bank with no direct debit or standing order set up and it left me quite short for money this month because of it. Any help would be appreciated.

What happens if my Pro Account expires?

If your Pro account expires, don't panic! None of your photos or videos have been deleted!
This means instead of enjoying the super-duper capacity of your Pro account, you're now subject to the limits of a free account. If you upgrade again, all of your photos will be waiting for you.
Any of your sets that disappeared will magically reappear when you renew or upgrade.

So as they said there will be a tick box, which may be selected by default.
Sadly there is nothing you can do.
Just make sure they are aware that you have now cancelled it. make a note of the date this has been done and then keep a eye on your bank account next year.
Never ASSUME anything its makes a
