LloydsTSB Easy Saver

Just a quick question:

Can this account receive cheque payments or must it first be deposited into a current account and then transferred internally?

2.1 You can pay money into the Account in branch, or by transferring money from another account with us or another bank.

I guess this says yes but can anyone confirm in practice?

I don't know the answer but the account has a terrible interest rate (1.2% AER incl 12 moths bonus, then 0.1%!!!). Even their worst current account (with Vantage) pays at least 1.5%, and up to 3%. Albeit for £5K max but you can have 3 of these.

Even if you can't for some reason get a current account, can't you find a better savings account?
