CLI Problem

Hi,
Our home phone will apparently send & receive text messages but doesn't. Sent messages are rejected whilst received text messages are converted to a voice text by BT, we then have to dial in to a BT number and retrieve those messages.

Apparently the phone text function will not work unless CLI is enabled. Many years ago we went ex-directory but I noticed recently that calls from our phone appear on caller display phones with a strange number that is not our real number.

Does this mean that CLI is disabled and if so, how to get that changed so that we can send/receive text messages?

Thans for any advice,
Mickey

    Hi,
Just read something that suggests the number being shown to call receivers may be our broadband phone which we never use but have left attached to the BT Home Hub 2.

Checking this confirms the strange number being displayed is our broadband phone number, any ideas if that may be stopping the normal phone from now receiving texts?

    Thanks,
    Mickey
