  • Well we booked up. Early start and we are the first tour in so gives us the rest of day doing something else if needs be. Expensive and I shall make sure he enjoys himself!!!

i went with kids and friends last year, HP films for me = good time for a doze , i don't find them entertaining and they bore me to tears , but the tour was very interesting so see the detail and lengths they go to in making the film , think it took around 3 hrs to go round , could have stayed longer .
if you have a heart condition don't hang around in the shop , the prices could kill you
  • Well we have visited and my son loved it! I have to say it was interesting in parts and something different to see, but price wise I still feel it was o the expensive side. The shop was staggering in prices and we didn't buy anything there. We did buy a photo of our son taking the broomstick 'ride' which was a pricy £12, but he really wanted it and we had not bought guide books or the like. Food prices were comparable with other venues with two coffes, three cakes and a soft drink at just over £10.

We spent about four hours there in the end and total cost was about £140 all in for two adults and a child and our fuel. Good day but expensive is best summary.

Thanks again for previous posters advice and if you are mad on HP then I guess it would be expensive but worth it, so horses for courses.

My son (8) has asked to go to Harry Bloody Potter world in Herts for his birthday (he always has a choice of party or day out). Now I cannot stand the irritating bespectacled little twerp, but my wife likes the films.

That's not a very nice thing to say about your son!

  • Could someone tell me the best/cheapest way to get from Central London to the Harry Potter bus stop at Watford Junction please? Will it be cheaper to buy a train ticket ahead of time, or just on the day? Thanks!

I live ten mins away from it and have no desire to ever go there but I have spoken to a lot of folk who have and they say its a really good day out , get the train from Euston to Watford junction for the bus ride, there are fast trains that only take 15 mins if you time it right

Is a Zone 1-9 Travelcard still available ?

I've looked on the TFL website and it only lists cards for zones 1-6 but IIRC , the last time I bought a London travelcard at a Rail station it gave a lot more options than listed on the TFL site.

im not particularly a fan but dd & oh are , we went last April and i have to say i did enjoy it but take your own food ! we didn't and its quite expensive also theres opportunities to have your photo taken on a broomstick which isnt cheap but luckily dd wanted to pay for that herself.

if you plan to stay nearby DONT book Hemmel Hempstead travelodge its a serious dive

If you click on this link for the 2014 fares it is listed as 1-9 plus Watford Junction. It will go up to £16.40 for the daily offpeak Travelcard.
