Moving

I have been paying for my gas and electric with pre paid meters up to £50 pounds per week for the last 7 years, I hope to be moving very soon, is it just a case of informing the two suppliers and leaving the cards with my soon to be EX landlord. Am I clear of responsibility once I have informed them and am I right in thinking I cant be hit with any surprise bills after I leave as you must pay on the cards before you use.
Thanks xx

Give readings to the supplier so they close your account down. This way you should not be hit by any surprise bills later. As long as you have no debt some suppliers are fine with you leaving the card and key for the new tenant but check this out with them.
