Leaving Rented Property

                    I am hoping to be moving very soon, been living in a private rented house for the last 7 years had very little contact with the owner in that time, maybe 3-4 times a couple of things she said would be looked at and wernt, and a couple of things that were looked at and just bodge jobs done on them. I wont be asking for my bond back would not expect to get it anyway, but my question is can I be charged for stuff that she feels that needs to be done when I move out like redecorating, carpet cleaning, and general stuff plugs where pics have hung and what not.

            After 7 years occupation most of what you describe is going to be classed as 'fair wear and tear', you should leave the place in a clean and useable condition but not worry overmuch about decorating because the place is certainly due for refreshing by the landlord before the next tenant.
If there are unreasonable claims then dispute them.
Is your 'bond' in a deposit protection scheme? Have you ever had the prescribed information? Don't just abandon your money.0 -

            I'm moving out after ten years in the same flat, so I recently had some similar concerns and was a bit worried about the inspection. I ended up worrying over nothing. The guy from maintenance came to do an inspection and his comment was, "if only all were as easy as this." (He said most places had big holes in the wall, damaged doors, etc.) Albeit, this is a housing association property and unfurnished.
Don't give up on your deposit so easily. You haven't done any intentional damage, it's all wear and tear as jamie11 mentioned. The only thing I'd mention is to make sure any rubbish is removed, clean the property and fill any holes you've made in walls (when putting stuff up). Just fill the holes, don't worry about paint. That's up to her to sort out, after all this time.

            I have half a dozen people who have been in as long as the people in the posts above,I would not dream of not giving their deposits back.its tenants like these we want less hassle.
The deposit protection scheme did not come in until 2007 so your deposits may not be protected if you are on a rolling contract,if you have had to re-sign at any time then it should have been insured or in DPS0 -
