Cutting it short here, one pc in room the other direct in another room,
How can i link them both together to run from the cable?
Running with virgin media.
Also what materials would i need?
Thanx in advance

Simplest way is with an Ethernet crossover cable and a network card (NIC) in each computer. Best way is using a (wireless) router and connect them wirelessly with wireless adapters or wired using Ethernet cables and NICs. Most PCs already have NICs in them.0

To avoid running cables between rooms, go for a wireless router (Cable/DSL variety for Virginmedia), plus a USB adapter for the machine that will pick up the wireless signal (or a network card for a laptop).
You can pick these up quite cheaply now at PC World etc. Some people get so rich they lose all respect for humanity.
That's how rich I want to be.
But until then - best wishes - Mike.

Thanx for your opinions, one room is behind other wall (which i didn'y say) it has very easy access to other PC (within a metre away from the other one) then what would be the cheapest but BEST way to go by?

Are you wanting to connect them both to the internet? Broadband?
Cheapest is drill a hole through the wall, and stick an ethernet crossover cable between the two, but this is fiddly, you may need another ethernet adapter.
Best, get a wireless router, and 1 wireless usb dongle (assuming you have BB), wire main pc up to router, and 2nd pc uses wireless dongle. Cost about £40Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Best, most secure, cheapest and fastest speed between the computers will be with the hole through the wall option.
You can get faceplates from maplins if you want it to look neater as well.0
