I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

We've bought about five second-hand Optiplex 755s recently for the charity where I work, and the spec is roughly similar to what's offered on Amazon. Note that you will get XP with them, so 2 GB of memory is more than adequate. Check if you're happy with 160 GB of hard disk space (nearer 130-140 in 'ordinary' GB once you've taken off the space used by the XP install, etc). Are you wanting a 17" monitor? Probably not...

I bought an ex corporate Dell Optiplex GX 620 off ebay for about £30 and it is great. No need to pay megabucks for a pc.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Plenty of refurb Dell about. I've bought a few for friends/family, and, as long as you don't want a good graphics card, then they are ok.
The micro-sff has an external power brick but a combined case/monitor stand. Other case sizes have internal psu.
    Easily handle internet, Farmville etc

Thanks, it's a bit more than I can afford, the one in my link is an all in one, including an OS

Not sure of the overall costs as I'll have to pay the local comp shop to change, I guess the ram could do with upgrading, with that in mind, I was wondering if I could get a refurbished desktop for around £100.00

    Thanks for the advice :)
