Won item, now seller won't sell.

I won this item: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=006&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=160113397626&rd=1&rd=1

Good price. However, theres no toners, and the toners cost nearly as much as the printers themselves, which is why people didnt bid.

He now won't sell, saying that the postage is too expensive for him to send them to me.

I won fair and square. I have the toners for these anyway. Can I do anything at all? He's refunded my money, which is now on hold by paypal. (dont get me started on them).

Seems he just didnt get the money he wanted, but printers without toners such as these go for peanuts.

If he ain't going to sell them to you not much you can do apart from reporting to EBay ad giving him a neg.

You've definitely got grounds for a claim, check the eBay help page on the matter - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html
You list your guitar on eBay and a buyer wins it. However, you’ve changed your mind and no longer want to sell the guitar. You would be in breach of the Seller Non-Performance Policy if you:

    refuse to accept the buyer's payment and don't send the guitar;
Expand the section marked Additional Information, and there is a link to Report the Seller

The listing advertises no reserve, and the seller has to honour that.

The perils of a 99p start auction in an uncertain category!! Sellers take note!!

  • Unfortunately you can't force them to sell, but you can report them to eBay and leave appropriate feedback. If they make a habit of this sort of thing they could eventually have their account suspended.

perhaps he has undercharged for postage and would rather take the neg than be out of pocket? Ask what the actual postage costs would be - or pick up if you can..or arrange a courier. You won fair and square - if he is quoting postgae as the problem then call his bluff with other options for postage
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

Well would cost £8.49 for parcel2go to send that. The printers weigh about 3kg with no toner in. Probably not even that. I did pay the £24.50 which would cover this and leave him a lot of change!

Oh well, if theres nothing I can do, thats that really. Quite annoying tho, was quite impressed with that win!

There is another "trick" that Sellers use is if you win an item that has gone for a small amount and the Seller thinks they want more for it -

You win the auction, you pay for the item. Four days go by and you are refunded with a note that says " the Post Office returned this item to me because you didn't pick it up (delivered when you were out)".

The Post Office hold mail for 14 days before returning, 7 for Signed For or Special Delivery!

I have had this con done to me half a dozen times in the last few months. Then the Seller relists.

    What a con!

Seller is now refusing to communicate further! Oh well. Just have to keep my eye out for others.

Just make sure you stick him with a factual neg.
