Bank of Scotland Cash Account

Does anyone know if the BoS Cash Account allows access to Halifax branches in England, as their old Easycash Account cards (Electron - I know that fact is irrelevant) did, as they did not work in Halifax's IDMs

Thanks

And out of the HBoS group, is the LloydsTSB the best option?

What kind of access are you talking about?
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.

The "best option" depends on your requirements. Can you elaborate what sort of account(s) and/or other transactions you are looking for?
  • It will allow cashpoint access yes - but no branch transactions at Halifax at all unless paying in with a pre printed credit book.

As in utilising the tellers/clerks at Halifax branches that Halifax Easycash customers cannot use, but BoS customers used to be able to use before BoS altered to the Cash Account (more Lloyds-y, than Halifax-y)

Ability to utilise PO branches; branch access; best online

    Basic bank account

    Not Nationwide BS; Co-Op

Can use benefit letters as proof to open bank account

BOS isn't separated from Halifax in same way as Lloyds.
You can deposit and withdraw with your card, stop Direct Debits etc

Sorry I was ahead of myself - this will happen when project Verde kicks in and the sale of branches goes through - according to all the paperwork I have received anyway.

I take it that BOS customers will be able to transact in Lloyds branches and vice versa then? Will Halifax customers be orphans?

  • Don't know BOS customers cannot transact in Lloyds now neither can Halifax.
