If you read the thread it is because sellers need to have two paypal accounts if they sell across a range of prices. I'm not at all sure what the relevance of a BIN button is?

If you are on a merchant rate of say 1.9% + £0.20 GBP (based on high sales volumes) then the amount at which the micro rate would become not worthwhile would also change. £7 sale would cost you 0.33p or 40p on the micro rate. Don't know what the exact cut off is?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. PayPal offer a separate fee structure for Verified Business/Premier merchants who only accept small UK to UK payments.
The fees are 5% + 5p per transaction compared to 3.4% + 20p which is the standard rate.
It is most financially beneficial to you if you accept payments under £9 for accounts with the Micropayment fee structure. For this reason it may be advisable to have a separate account for the small or ‘Micropayments’.
Here’s how you can sign up for micropayment pricing:
1. Go to our micropayments website at https://micropayments.paypal-labs.com
2. Click ‘Signup.’
3. Select the appropriate country.
4. Click ‘Login here.’
5. Enter your PayPal account password and click ‘Log in.’
Allow 2 business days for the micropayment pricing to take effect.
Please be aware that micropayments can only be used when processing transactions of 9GBP or under.
I'm thinking about setting up a paypal micropayments account , does the BIB above mean that I could only use it for UK to UK sales/auctions ?
also - do I have to phone paypal to set it up ? I've read different opinions on this .0 -

You don't need to phone paypal and it is not only used for UK sales.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Incidentally, I had a buyer make a number of eBay purchases recently, some linked to the 'normal' paypal account and some low value items listed and linked to the 'micropayments' account. I wondered how that would work, half expecting 2 invoices and a payment for each account! However, automatically, the entire invoice and payment was linked to my 'normal' account, which for a £50 sale, was the most efficient."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
