Renewing Car Insurance means no cashback ?

Hi
Almost time to renew car insurance , current insurance is with Aviva and renewal price is good , however if I renew I will not be able to claim a cashback ( approx £60-70)
Could I contact Aviva and say I do not what to renew and then take out a new policy on-line via a cashback site on the renewal date so I can claim cashback ?
Many thanks
Regards Steve

Quidco does say 'new customers only' but could be worth a try. Definitely don't base your choice of insurer based on the net price just in case.0

I agree with above - cashback should be seen as a nice extra but not the primary reason to buy a policy.0

I did this last year with Aviva no problem.
Surprisingly the new online quote was slightly more than the renewal, but was cheaper with the cashback.
We have had 6 Aviva policies through cashback sites and all have tracked and paid out.
Just make sure you tell them in advance that you are lapsing the policy from renewal and that you want to cancel the auto renewal if you haven't already done that.0 -
thanks for the replies , will cancel auto renewal and give it a try
