How Long Should I Give Him?

On 29th March an Ebayer won a cd I had for sale and he still has not paid. Ive sent him invoices and emails and he has replied once saying that he had changed his bank and was waiting for a new cheque book. As the cheque book hadn't arrived he was going to get a mate to write a cheque for him. This was at the beginning of the week and I still haven't had his cheque. Ive now sent him another email saying that if I don't receive his cheque I will have no option but to report him as a non-paying bidder.
The trouble is, this cd was selling for more money on Ebay at the time I sold it. Ive just looked at other identical cd's selling at the moment and they are going for about £6 less than they were so if he doesn't buy it Ive really lost out. Im worried he has now seen them cheaper and won't buy my cd.
How much longer should I give him?

its up to you really how confident you feel he will pay, he may have noticed they are cheaper now and not be willing to pay.
the other option is to give a second chance offer to the next highest bidder, this way you may still get a good price.'What's poignancy grandad?'

Although you could give out a second chance offer I wouldn't base your decision on this as it's very unlikely they'll accept 2 weeks after the item ended (especially as it's a cd)0 -
They've had too long already. Start the Non Paying Bidder process and see if that works in getting them to actually send you a cheque.
I'd send an Email (edit as you see fit) advising..... "As I have not yet received payment, and so as to safeguard myself in the event that payment is not received, I have commenced the first stage of the NPB process" ..... Blah Blah

it is worth a try, though i would say more so if it was a rare cd.stavros wrote:Although you could give out a second chance offer I wouldn't base your decision on this as it's very unlikely they'll accept 2 weeks after the item ended (especially as it's a cd)'What's poignancy grandad?'

I had a potential NPB a while ago, after 2 very polite emails and excuses as a response, I filed a NPB, and voila the cheque appeared. Do it now, the NPB strike on their account tends to focus the mind!
My buyer paid up and transaction completed, albeit after nearly 4 weeks, and I received positive feedback as well.0 -
I'm with everyone else..he's already had far too long. File a NPB now!"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0

Does ebay allow you to relist an item without paying the insertion fee if the second chance offer is rejected? If it doesn't then I wouldn't recommend sending out a second chance offer, and would just relist normally.0 -
I will start the npb process and see if this speeds things up. Will let you know if anything happens. Thanks for the advice.0
