I remember having a local for a filling a few years ago.
I got impatient waiting for the feeling to come back to that side of my face, so I started lightly tapping it...
... woke up the next morning with a huge bruise on my cheek where I'd been whacking it and not realising how hard I was doing it!
Lesson: Don't try it!!
Savvy_Sue.. please excuse me for being horribly nosey, but what was your surgery for? I've just finished studying a uni module in Biological Psychology, and it's really interesting.. but feel free to tell me to naff off

Oh, nose away, I still use the "I've just had brain surgery" line to explain away anything I forget, even though it's coming up for two years now!Savvy_Sue.. please excuse me for being horribly nosey, but what was your surgery for? It was to remove a posterior fossa meningioma. For the benefit of those not doing biological psychology, a meningioma is usually benign, usually slow growing, and they don't always need treatment. It was behind my ear, so my hair covered all the really interesting scars (and the staples! They sent me a staple remover so the nurses at the surgery could take the stitches out!)
I had a lovely long thread about things to take into hospital, and another when I actually went in which DH had to update for a bit, and for a long while afterwards my signature was "I've just had brain surgery - what's your excuse?" :rotfl: PM if you want to know more ...
Back on topic, holstar, I presume your arm is awake again now? although having had a 'foreign body' put into it, I suppose it may take some time to feel completely normal?
Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
My arm is fine now thank you, still got a luuurvely bruise there, but it doesn't hurt at all (unless my boyfriend sleeps on it  and won't wake up when I tried to move him off it  )
It felt a bit weird yesterday, because of where it is in relation to the muscles, when I was lifting heavy stuff with that arm it was hurting a bit, but more a dull achey-hurt rather than proper hurt (thats a rubbish explanation, but hopefully you understand!)
But apart from that, its fine
