With the Halifax mastercard £5 reward for spending £300 a month on the card do I have to spend £300 a calendar month on the card to get the reward or £300 during my credit card statement month to get the reward?
:money:
I have looked for the answer elsewhere but cant fine it. Thanks.
Obviously I know that it needs paying off when statement is issued.

Yep, per statement. I spend £301 or as near as dammit then switch to using my new Aqua card.0

Surely you'd be better off spending the Aqua card up to your limit each month first? The Aqua pays 3%, Halifax is at best 1.66%0

If you know your always going to spend at least £280/month, then put the first £280 on Aqua and the rest on Halifax.
If you can spend in excess of £580/month, then £280 to Aqua and £300 to Halifax is a better deal.
It's better to distribute Aqua than go all out and max cashback within 6 months and then having to find small amounts to keep the card alive.0 -

I have looked for the answer elsewhere but cant fine it.11 REWARD PAYMENT
11.1 If you meet the requirements set out in condition 11.2, then for any statement period in which you:-
(a) make at least £300 of Purchases (once any Purchases refunded in that period have beend deducted);
(b) stay within your credit limit; and
(c) make your minimum monthly payment;
you will qualify for a £5 credit to your account in the following month.

The second approach is why I will spend as close to £301 as possible and then use the Aqua. Spend is between £500-£600 per month but with birthday, Xmas presents etc I worked out that I will get the full cashback from Aqua and £5/month from Halifax.0 -

The terms in the link posted are for the clarity card - not the reward card...I don't think I can hang on til Friday...0 -

The Clarity Reward is the same as the Clarity card, the only difference being you have to spend more than £300 during your statement period to get the £5 reward.Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0 -

My mistake I guess - I've got a clarity card that doesn't give me the £5 monthly payment, and a reward card that does. Completely baffled now - must ring them up & find out why...I don't think I can hang on til Friday...0 -
