After being on Incapacity benefit for the last 12 months, i have now become well enough to do a little part time work, i dont earn much but just trying to get into the swing on things again. I earn about £40 per week based on commision but as my customer base increases hopefully so will my wage, this is roughly over 15-16hours (not sure how this effect it) As we have just had a baby my partner is not working and at home looking after our daughter.
We currently get £53 per week tax credits, £17 child benefit. We also get £45o towards our £500 per month rent.
Now i'm self employed can we get any additional Benefits?
As you can imagine things are a bit tight at the mo so your help is much appreciated.
Paul.

I dont think you will. If you earn under a certina amount, you might beable to get IS to top your income up because you have a young child, but i am not sure on this. You say you have TC, HB and CB - so you might qualify for IS or your other half might.
Best thing to do, is talk to a WRO or go to the CABNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0 -
There just is'nt any incentive to get into work, we cant survive on this income its ridiculous, grrr. I've got debt to service and no way can i do it at present, makes me feel like throwing in the towel.
Is'nt there a website that tells you what your entitled too?0 -
