Just got a DVD box set I had won on Ebay this morning. Upon opening it, I found it was region 1. I specifically asked which region it was, and the seller told me it was Region 2. It's not even worth returning it, as it was 1p + £2.20 P&P.
That's on top of the Sky remote which has stopped working after a few weeks as the battery compartment isn't right and the terminal of one of the batteries keeps disconnecting.
I hope the lot I'm selling at the weekend goes smoother than my buying...

ooh this happened to me and within about 10 minutes i had unlocked my dvd player to play all regions. Apparantly nearly all of them can be done

I bought a little DVD player from WHY Smiths, They gave me a sheet with unlock instructions and the codes to play all regions.
It was cheap also.
And unlike a lot of things it still works.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Just tried it on my laptop. The good news is it does work. The bad news is that it's rubbish quality and has the words "dics 1" "dics 2" dics 3" and "dics 4" printed on it and the DVD back is gold, not silver.
