    Lets see.

Apparently this time you are a female nurse, with elderly parents who are both disabled.

So I presume that this time you are playing the daughter. Maybe you got fed up of playing the parents.

Oh yes very funny I don't think.

Have you ever been to see a psychiatrist about your problem?

    Have you?

This is stage 2 in your alter-ego process, denial.

Err yes I have many times - lovely guy.

I have nothing to deny, you are the one that is making spurious comments to all and sundry.

End of my conversation with you - as you have nothing to contribute to this particular thread, there is no point in wasting my time any further.

How many times do we hear of a husband & wife who are both unemployed claim carers allowance for each other in order to claim Income Support instead JSA?

They couldn't claim CA for each other unless they were both receiving middle or high rate DLA or AA.

I think that you will find that the DWP care!!

I'm sure the DWP care that you accepted £3000 fraudulently, have you repaid this?

I'm also pretty convinced the biggest fraud in carers allowance is married couples so badly disabled they need full time care themselves, yet care or each other.

OP what time does the parent pick up? Do the parents stay for a cuppa? Does she do any washing for the child etc.

As many have said caring doesn't always have to mean you are with the person requiring the care i.e. picking up shopping, prescriptions, arranging and going to appointments, picking up and dropping of at nursery/school, preparing your home to care there and even tidying up when they've left can all add up extra hours as can travelling to and from the home of the caree.

I would keep a diary for a week or two to see exactly how much time is included before making the decision and if it's very close to the 35 hours or you're not sure of what should/should not be counted then contact the CA department to ask what they think.

Of course my assumption is that they do.

What £3000 debt caused by fraud? I don't have any debts, not even a credit card.

Yes it surprises me that they are allowed to get away without any checks being made.

I insist with my mum and dad that a daily diary is kept to prove exactly what each does for the other. This was suggested by their care manager from Social Services. It is done to show continuing care needs for the council's benefit, as well as to have a record for the DWP which I send in to them every year in respect of their carers claims.

Excellent advice, I already insist that my parents do that not only for Social Services but to send a copy to the DWP every year to back up the claims that they make.

A diary or notebook is the minimum that should be kept.

I'm sorry but how can this be considered 'care' due to disability? Except maybe the picking up of prescription (which shouldn't take longer than 5 mns if done whilst shopping), all these activities are those that parents or legal guardians do every day because of their role as parent/guardian, not carers.

As much as I support carers' allowance in the case of carers really taking on caring duties, I do believe that it is one that is easily abused, with the magic 35 hours justified just because it needs to be to claim the benefit.
