personally i would drop the 3770k to the i5 3570k (for about £175) mainly because gaming will not utilise the extra features (hyperthreading) that the i7 provides, i would then beef up the SSD to a 256gb one, so you can install the games on the SSD and therefore benefit for the extra speed availableDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
I would also drop down to the i5 although would put the savings into a better graphics card as an SSD will mean slightly less waiting but a better graphics card would mean better framerates at higher detail and resolution. Plus some game installs are huge these days, I decided to stick with a 128GB drive and leave the games on the HD as a 256GB drive wouldn't even hold half the games which would mean juggling them back and forth.

The Sandisk Ultra is getting on a bit these days, and doesn't have the best reliability record, probably better to go for something like an Intel 330 or some other Sandforce 2200 based drive.0

the better graphics card is an option, however on a 24 inch monitor with a 1080p resolution the 660ti will have no problems as the ati 7850 can play every current game in high and above detail settings at that res, so the 660ti which is basically two levels above will have no problems, the 7950 is a good option as well as its more powerful than the 660ti, but it can suffer from micro stutter in some games which can be annoyingDrop a brand challenge

Yup, I'd go for an SSD too

I've read various volumes of Charles Petzfold guide to windows programming at several thousand pages in total, and that was not as in depth as that article!0
