2 Bank Accounts - Good Idea?

Yes, downgrade the URCA to a free version i.e. Reward or Current.
Always try to have 2 current accounts, each with a different banking group.Did you read the bit where I said I am closing the one at £15 this upcoming week back to a free standard current account??
The post is whether I should keep it open or close it outright despite it being a free account. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I have 2 bank accounts with other banking groups. Just to be on the safe side incase any systems go down. (& to help my credit file too), both mine are free accounts as i do not need any extra's. (tho I understand some people need them).0

I think it's sensible to have two bank accounts, firstly as mentioned if my main bank has technology issues I have a back up. Secondly if I get shoddy treatment from my main bank I can switch instantly without hassle. I currently bank with First Direct and Barclays premier.
As far as CRAs go I don't think having two bank accounts has an impact unless you are into two overdrafts.0
