Seems clear to me that they are reducing public spending in certain areas in order to reduce the rate at which the national debt is rising.

Or in other words public spending overall hasn't reduced and the national debt continues to rise at pace. Not quite what DC said in his speech and a long way from his election promises.

This government don't have the advantage of banks having access to plenty of "funny money".

Liam Byrne left a warning, did he not ?

This government have access to funny money just like the last.

Yes a warning was left - there is no money - Osborne seems not to understand.

A childish jibe, that will be written on his headstone, I wonder what Danny Alexander will be leaving?

Portillo was asked about this on Thursday. He thought the Leadership election process would prevent May being considered. Even if the party liked her the mebership would not get a chance to vote for her (he said) as she would never get encough MPs to support her.

Papers saying this morning she is Ukips favoured candidate ! I wonder if she is perceived as more honest and less likely to con the public or get told off for porkies?

Theresa May would also be far less popular than Cameron to the British public at large. Posh boy is actually the tories strongest card because he does have some attraction to the 'middle of the road' non party affiliated voter.

The events in the Eurozone have haven't helped since 2010. May well blow the UK's recovery even further off course.

No one seems to be prepared to to tackle the UK's consumers love affair with debt. Like asking a convict who has a ball and chain to run a marathon in a good time. Yet we wonder why the German economy continues to tick over. Their attitude to personal debt is so so different. Saving is ingrained into the domestic culture.
