  • You seem to think they have a choice - they don't! Cam and Os have been ordered in no uncertain terms by all the economic agencies to move towards Ed balls Plan B for Growth! They are now isolated with their failing policy - and boxing themselves in more and more by the minute - but if they try to tell us canny voters any more porkies.... well, the world is certainly now watching!

Ed balls Plan B for Growth!

    Which is ?

I expect it involves increasing government borrowing.

The question is, will the increased borrowing create enough growth ?

Between '03 and '07 UK economic growth was around 2.5%, with a gradual increase in debt as a percentage of GDP.

How much growth will be required to bring government borrowing down ?

  • Article in paper yesterday said if Cons hadn't skuppered the growth plan in 2010, and things had carried on their trajectory of recovery..... we would have been at Growth of 1.4% by now (I ll see if I can find it and post it here)

But what does Plan A stand for? Austerity is not a plan of itself. Its very easy to kill the patient by strangulation but it does not cure the problem.

You're forgetting that there is no austerity! Government spending is rising.

Looks like Cameron is toast before the next election, I wonder what price at the bookies? Theresa May the next PM, you must be joking
He said he will then set out plans to join forces with the Conservatives to fight Labour in the 2015 general election, but only if David Cameron agrees to step down as the party leader, well-placed sources said.

Then again now Farage is on the slippery slope.
Mr Farage said Mr Murdoch was a "remarkable bloke" but would not comment on what they had discussed.

Portillo was asked about this on Thursday. He thought the Leadership election process would prevent May being considered. Even if the party liked her the mebership would not get a chance to vote for her (he said) as she would never get encough MPs to support her.
