I use Sainsbury's Basics conditioner (discontinued, about to move on to ASDA Smart price) and my hair is lovely, soft and full of body.
I was intrigued by this so decided to give it a go. I felt the difference straight away. My hair feels better than it ever has before.0 -

The great thing with conditioner only 'washing' is that you don't need to give it a couple of weeks to bed-in. After the first go, you'll know if its for you.
Wet your hair, use a generous amount of cheap conditioner, massage it through your hair and leave it for a couple of minutes while you shower the rest of your body. Then rinse out thoroughly and bob's your uncle.
Will have to give this a go, can't agree (for me) that the shampoo has no effect. When I use both the # 4 Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner my hair is fine, but when I just use the conditioner with another shampoo it becomes quite dry. Did it the other day with some Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Shampoo that was almost empty just to get rid of the bottle and the Argan conditioner and it was not a nourished as it normally is when I use both the Argan shampoo & conditioner.
I did try the massage that someone suggested which gave a bit of body, so next wash I will try just the Agran Oil Conditioner to see what that does to my hair.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
They did a shampoo test on Superscrimpers programme this week. Tested out Asda SP, Herbal Essences and something ridiculously expensive I'd never heard of. Herbal Essences won out althugh one of the criteria was how it smelled which did skew the results a bit. I think you can get that in the £shop sometimes.
I tend to mostly use John Frieda (always when on offer) but that's becausee I believe the stuff about it keeping my expensive highlights from fading. I'm not sure if it's true!;) When times are really hard I buy something branded from £ shop myself.0 -
Tried my first Condition only wash yesterday and my hair looks lovely (it seems that for some it can take up to four weeks for hair to look best but I think that is down to the chemicals you use, if you use waxes etc. you are meant to do a bicarb wash first to remove all the chemicals, this I did not do as I add nothing to my hair - heat treatments etc.)
From what I was reading conditioner only washing can make your hair's natural curl or wave come out more as it is the shampoo that stops your hair from being what it naturally is.
I use a Moroccan Oil Conditioner which is not cheap but goes long way and will not compromise to something cheaper as this suits my hair (where others do not).
I will continue to now only do the conditioner wash and hubby is going to give it a try, not only will we have healthier hair (less chemicals) but will be saving money by not having to buy shampoo from now on.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
We have been spoilt in our house because we partook in the ASDA glitch and therefore have enough Aussie and John Freeda for at least 15 years.
The reason I say it, however, is that we also got loads of different stuff as it was all working out at 10p. My OH, and two DDs 16 and 21 have tried them all. I use the Caffeine stuff because I'm going bald but to be fair, it's probably doing nothing!
All my girls tell me that they don't see a difference between the Tressemee, Ausie, John Freeda or the Herbal essences. We have tonnes of the ASDA smart price conditioner and that's what we use to a) clean the leather sofa b) put loads in kids hair to comb lice out when they inevitably bring them home from school c) wash the dogs d) for me, because I'm worth it! :rotfl::A
I shall be selling all the Aussie at the boot sale in the coming weeks at 3 for £6. They go wild for it. I'll then use it to buy the big Tressemmee when on offer at £2 for 900ml. They do all like the Argon oil though when straightening their hair. £5 a bottle! - Good job we have a bucket load. :eek:I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.
