I would advise visiting your local rescue and seeing which dogs you don't react to and like the personality of.
Allergies tend to be specific to that dog and not the breed. You could get a yorkie/mini schnauzer/poodle etc but you could still react to it despite it being hypoallergenic.

True, in a very tiny number of cases perhaps, but its pretty well established that allergy sufferers are better off with particular breeds.
Visiting a rescue would not be a good way to tell anyway, tons of allergens from all the different dogs flying around the place! The best way to find out if a particular breed triggers your allergies/asthma is to spend a good few hours in a house where only that one breed lives.0
