Virgin Active - Trades Description Act?

Options
I booked myself a 30 minute back massage at my local Virgin gym. At the end of the massage, I commented on how quick the 30 minutes went to be told that its actually a 22 minute message with 8 minutes relaxation!

Surely if they are advertising it as a 30 minute massage, thats what it should be!

cheers

I would be happy with this, its part of the relaxation process surely.

I assume that 'relaxation' means they just leave you laying there on the bench for 8 minutes or so? If so, then that is clearly not the same as 'back massage' and no reasonable person would interpret it as so.

If they are advertising it as 30 mins back massage then they should be massaging your back for 30 minutes - simple as that!

Perhaps you should have 'relaxed' your payment to 22/30ths of what they were charging.

    Relaxation my a**e!

Which branch of Virgin Inactive was it?

Sounds typical behaviour of their business practice. I'm surprised that they didn't hang you upside down after your massage and collect any loose change that fell out of your pocket.

Complain to Virgin Vie / Heaven V / Whatever name they call the beauty bit. They will probably fob you off onto the gym manager.

Let me know what branch it is and I can probably help you more.

Thanks for your reply. I have sent a private message to you with the info. I might write to the top dog!

Well, had a conversation with Trading Standards yesteday and they have had the same complaint and had to speak to the virgin gym before.

They told me to report them to the Advertising Standards Agency so I'll wait and see what they have to say

    cheers for your replies
