long delivery estimate

Got a bit excited and paid for something then later realised that the seller dispatches in 10 working days and estimated 20 working days delivery.

What are the timescales for getting my money back if he doesn't send? Can't open case until April.

Feedback seems ok but all a few months late, as would be expected.

If you go through PayPal you can open an INR on day 7 and PayPal will refund you 10 days later regardless of sellers dispatch time. Only eBay delay claims due to seller time frames.

10 working days seems a bit strange. They may have done that because they are posting from the far east and are lying about their location. eBay doesn't take to kindly to that.

oh ok, didn't know that. What should one do in this case if the item does arrive? Just pay again?

So in the thread by suburbanwifey, would a Paypal claim have been a better way to go as well?

They are in the east of the EU, apparently.

They've probably done that because ebay gives unrealistic timescales for international delivery.

You do have 45 days from purchase in which to open an inr case.
So even allowing for the long dispatch estimate and delivery estimate you will be well within the time frame if your package does not arrive .
I have previously bought non urgent things with that timeframe but they all arrived fairly promptly..
And fro any inr i always go through paypal as they tend to have a more straightforward time frame.
