Release a Lloyds TSB Fixed Term Deposit

I opened a 3 Year Fixed Term Deposit with Lloyds TSB in November 2012 as I received a large sum of inheritance.
However my circumstances have changed greatly, and I need the money releasing as soon as possible. I have been in touch with the bank - they told me to write a letter explaining my circumstances honestly, and they posted it internally for me last week.
I just wanted to know if anyone has released a Fixed Term Deposit before from Lloyds, and what the likelihood will be for me to get my money back?!
