Is this a good tablet for email, facebook & a bit of web browsing?

Can I load Excel (or something compatable with Excel on it)?

Liking the tablet with a ket board if you need it option?

You can view and load Excel docs, but probably won't be very good for editing or working with them.
Tablets are no substitute for laptops for full MS office functions, but will be no probs for light browsing (shopping!), email, facebook.

Not sure if gwynne is talking from direct experience or not. We've owned the TF-101 since it was launched 2 or 3 years ago and it has been in daily use since. The keyboard is very good quality, better than many laptops, and the flexibility of using it as a laptop or tablet is very useful.

Being android, you cannot use Excel, but it comes with Polaris Office pre-installed which is compatible with MS Office. Editing documents is a joy on the keyboard dock.

The only minor drawback (as with most tablets) is the inability to hook up to a standard printer. You need to use a compatible wifi printer, a cloud printer, or transfer documents by memory card or email to another machine to print.

There are more powerful, newer versions available, but if you can get the original at a good price, it's still a very powerful, flexible machine. Ours is probably the best bang for the buck piece of tech we have ever bought. I'm typing this on it now. (It's interesting to note that we use it far more with the keyboard attached, than as a tablet).
