1. On day 4 of my Lentil Soup I made last weekend and its tasting as good as it did at the start of the week.
2. Cancelled Trial Gym Membership and took out a student budget card with the local council, 50p every time I visit!
3. Will use said Card to do Metafit Class
4. Erm thats about it!
If I had discovered MSE this time last year I may not be going down the road to BR

Morning all,
Useful morning so far......
*Weekly shop came in under budget.
*Lots of reduced fruit & veg at Co-op plus an offer Buy 4 fruit/veg, get the cheapest free, so free lettuce!
*Went to Body Shop intending to save 30% with my discount code, then saved 100% because our Body Shop has CLOSED DOWN!! What a shame. I really liked it.
*Phone charged & upstairs hoovered on Economy 7.
*Free coffee in Waitrose ('My Waitrose' card)
*Turned spare room heating off.
*Free tiny cereal bar on magazine I've subscribed to....that's this afternoon's 50 cal snack sorted!
*Did surveys. I only received last £30 Debenhams voucher via Toluna at beginning of Feb & am already only a couple of survey's worth of points away from another one. Think this is because they add points on so slowly (it takes 4-6 weeks for some reason), that there are always loads waiting in arrears.
@BedsitBob. It's a fantastic feeling, isn't it? Well done! After I'd paid off my last debt, I actually had the same excited feeling in my tummy that I used to get when I was out on a big spending binge.
@MrsDee. I am debt-free too, but I find this thread is really concentrating my mind on staying that way. My failure to budget & consistent overspending of my income lasted from my late teens to my early 40s. Last year, while not reverting to my old ways (partner also used to be just as bad as me pre-his LBM), our cushion of emergency money dropped to quite a bit below its usual level, so it was obvious we had started overspending our income again. The economy is in a dire state too, & partner is today at a manager's meeting to see what the next round of cuts is going to bring in terms of redundancies, so we desperately need to be careful. So.....if the members of this thread don't mind the company of a debt-free person who has been a very silly girl with money in the past & now wants to keep her new halo, I am finding it's helpful to take part & have picked up some useful advice & info already.
That's it for me, I shall be taking a bite out of this keyboard if I don't get some lunch soon.

Thanks Foxgloves. Yes I think that's what I've done over the years too - actually was quite sensible when I wasnt earning very much but over the last few years when I've been earning more, it's as if I thought I had limitless amounts of money to spend (almost!). So bought things without thinking about it and was just too extravagant and simply spending more than I earnt. Over time that adds up of course!
Now I am back on the straight and narrow, thanks in great part to this site and various threads I am on (in particular cutting down/giving up alcohol thread!!).
It's so good to feel that things are moving in the right direction and I'm picking up lots of tips and ideas from the fab people here. I'm actually relishing my new MSE attitude to life and appreciating things more!!
Good luck everyone and have a lovely day.xxSick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

Evening all!
Late post again, last day of working 45 miles away from home. Though it has to be said I will miss that place and the people
This is me: -
- Checked bank
- Plucked up the courage to text ex about maintenence, I'll have it on Monday apparently, sorry sorry been busy cr4p month before new registration blah blah blah......I'll believe it when I see it, wonder if I'll get the other £100 owed from last month too? Won't hold my breath!
- Nipped to Mr T's for "last day doughnuts" this morning and bought a cheeky pasta thing for lunch
- Breakfast was a home made porridge pot
- Dinner was turkey I got out the freezer cooked for me by my wonderful, darling, beautiful mother!
- Ex has said he'll do DD a packed lunch on a Wed now instead of me doing it on a Fri. He forgot to send her with a lunch today and so used some of the credit I'd built up with the school dinners. Only £2 but I calculate everything to the penny!
- Colleague that I've been training all week gave me a thank you present of a smellies gift set (this will get re-gifted, as will the bag) and a jar of home made marmalade (this will definitely get eaten by ME!!!!) She also bought me a twix :rotfl:
- Early night tonight as exhausted
- Refused to wrap and give DM her mothers day present early as I wanted to get my money's worth out of the expensive paperchase wrapping paper, LOL!!!!
JxNothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
i didnt go thru the door today, and we had a meal from the freezer
